The upcoming weddings of Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Scarlett Johansson have been the subject of rife speculation by the tabloids. The stories are uniformly incorrect and this week, one tabloid has lazily summed up wrong reports from the past year. Gossip Cop can correct the false information.

The two-page spread in Woman’s Day includes stories previously debunked by Gossip Cop, wild reversals from previous claims by the tabloid and even crazier speculation. One of the blurbs, about Lopez’s upcoming wedding to Alex Rodriguez, alleges the Hustler’s star is planning a wedding in “snowy location” on either New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. Gossip Cop busted this very premise just last week when In Touch claimed Lopez and Rodriguez were planning a “Winter Wonderland” wedding.

Just like that article, both stories include weird details – like what type of flowers would be at the wedding – but the dubious source didn’t know the exact day or even the exact location. Both pieces mention Aspen as a possible location. Clearly Woman’s Day simply took a bogus report from In Touch and included in this spread without checking any of the facts, because none are true. Gossip Cop previously checked with a source close to Lopez who confirmed the claims were false.

Johansson and Colin Jost have been fairly quiet about the details of their upcoming wedding. Since the couple got engaged in May, they have not publicly announced a date or any other details about the wedding. That hasn’t stopped Woman’s Day from proclaiming Johansson to be a “bridezilla” while planning her wedding, but doesn’t provide much of an explanation to back that up, except to say she’s planning to wear a white dress and have a five-layer cake. Those are things that millions of brides have at their weddings.

The tabloid’s reporting on the couple has been sketchy. In May, it reported that Johansson and Jost were planning a lavish, $1.5 million wedding at Hugh Jackman’s house in East Hampton, NY over the summer. Summer came and went and the wedding never happened, just as Gossip Cop confirmed when we debunked the story at the time. Woman’s Day’s latest reporting is just as dubious.

Perry and Orlando Bloom’s wedding is also part of the spread. In the blurb about it, the magazine claims the singer has “nixed a long white dress for ‘something flamboyant and colorful,’ and the cake and flowers will follow suit,” for the couple’s supposed “Christmastime wedding.” The tabloid adds that the couple will be trying to get pregnant right away – “maybe even on their honeymoon,” implying the two will go on a traditional honeymoon shortly after the wedding later this month.

This is directly the opposite of the same tabloid’s report from May 2018, when the outlet claimed Perry and Bloom were planning a wedding that September. According to that report, the couple was “planning a traditional ceremony” and Perry “lined up a white wedding gown.” 18 months later, the couple never got married, so the tabloid has re-invented its tall tale about the wedding. Instead of a traditional wedding with a white gown, now it’s a nontraditional one with a colorful dress. Gossip Cop busted that story over a year ago and the couple still isn’t married.  The tabloid is clueless.

Another big problem here is that Bloom just started production on Season 2 of his hit Amazon Prime show, Carnival Row. While it hasn’t been announced how long the production schedule is, the first season of the show began shooting in October 2017 and wrapped in March 2018. If history is our guide, the show will likely shoot well into the spring, making a winter wedding and honeymoon highly unlikely. The publication doesn’t know anything about the wedding plans of any of these stars.
