A report speculating Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are “getting married” was made up, Gossip Cop has exclusively learned. The couple currently has no plans to wed, and any article suggesting otherwise is baseless.

This particular tale comes from the serial fabricators at HollywoodLife, who ask in a headline, “Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez: When Are They Thinking Of Getting Married?” Naturally, the repeatedly wrong and routinely discredited webloid is pretending to know the answer. The accompanying story says, “Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s romance is a total home run, so… when can we expect to hear wedding bells? The baseball player wants to marry the woman of his dreams very soon.”

The bad blog seems to have an unusual definition of “very soon,” because it goes on to assert that Lopez and Rodriguez actually won’t have a “wedding happening this year.” Rather, a so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “For a marriage or engagement to happen this year is a little far fetched and will probably be pushed to a later date, maybe 2018 or 2019.”

In other words, after initially claiming Rodriguez wants to get married “very soon,” the site then gives a two-year window for the nuptials. That’s a rather large range of time. What’s more suspicious, though, is that the online outlet only ran this story after picking up an E! piece that alleged Rodriguez “would wife [Lopez] up in a heartbeat.” How convenient, then, that HollywoodLies would suddenly get an “exclusive” on when a wedding may go down.

But, as Gossip Cop has already demonstrated, the webloid’s reporting on this couple is not to be trusted. In fact, we busted the disreputable site earlier this month for speculating Lopez and Rodriguez were engaged. Now jokes one of our impeccable contacts, “They are already married.”

The point, of course, is that the gossip media is quite obviously rushing the romance along, rather than letting it progress naturally. Sure, the two superstars could end up tying the knot. It could also just be a matter of time before they fizzle out. At this point, speculation about a wedding is unfounded, and reports such as this one from HollywoodLies are inaccurate.
