Does Jennifer Lopez want to take a break from Alex Rodriguez? That's the rumor circulating in the tabloids over the last month. Gossip Cop can again set the record straight.
On its website, OK! is announcing, "Too Close For Comfort? Jennifer Lopez Might Take A Break From Alex Rodriguez." According to the gossip magazine, the couple has been "seemingly inseparable since they began dating earlier this year, but even J. Lo. needs a break from all the attention now and then!" In fact, it's specifically alleged, "Jen is desperate for some time away from her famous boyfriend, and is hoping the two can take 'a few weeks' off from each other!"
"It's gotten too claustrophobic even for Jen, who's known to be one of the neediest people on the planet," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying, without providing any evidence for how Lopez is "one of the neediest people." But with Rodriguez, the outlet's supposed source contends, "She's put a lot of her life on hold these past few months, like hanging out with girlfriends and even her kids." Apparently neither the publication nor its purported tipster is familiar with Lopez's Instagram, where she regularly posts pictures of herself with her twins.
Still, the tabloid maintains Lopez "just wants some time for herself," even though "there's technically nothing wrong with the couple's relationship." The alleged "insider" adds, "Things are great with Alex but they haven't had a day off [from] each other in literally months. She's looking at a few weeks' break, which they both agree will do them a lot of good in the long term."
But if Lopez is so eager to get away from Rodriguez, why did this very same magazine claim only weeks ago that they were planning a wedding? And if the singer is needing space right now, why did Lopez invite Rodriguez on her trip to Dubai, where she's performing this week? Gossip Cop suspects the only reason the outlet went with this narrative is because its sister publication, Star, had its own story last month claiming Lopez wanted a "breather" from Rodriguez.
In actuality, the opposite is true. Gossip Cop is told by a mutual pal of ours and the couple that Lopez and Rodriguez are only getting closer. They spend so much time together, like on this trip to Dubai, because they both genuinely want to be around each other as much as possible. It's amazing: When the tabloids aren't building couples up, they're tearing them down.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
