Jennifer Lopez turns 48 on Monday, and to celebrate her birthday, Gossip Cop looks back at 5 wrong rumors about the actress/singer we exclusively "blew out."
Ever since Lopez started dating former Yankees player Alex Rodriguez earlier this year, we've had to debunk numerous false stories surrounding the superstar couple's relationship. Gossip Cop called out Life & Style just last week for wrongly reporting the singer had "cold feet" over marrying her boyfriend. Only, Lopez isn't even engaged to the athlete, nor are the two planning a wedding. Regardless, a rep for Rodriguez dismissed the magazine's report as "comical," while a source close to Lopez also assured us the story was "false."
In March, we busted Life & Style's phony cover story claiming the couple were having a baby together. The discredited tabloid alleged Lopez would try to get pregnant the natural way, but would consider adoption if she couldn't conceive. But Gossip Cop checked in with separate sources close to the singer and former MLB player, both of whom assured us the couple weren't ready to have a child together.
Of course, the tabloids spread other lies about Lopez's love life before she started dating Rodriguez. Star wrongly reported in December 2016 that the singer was hooking up with Derek Hough, her co-star on the reality competition show "World of Dance." Gossip Cop looked into the claim, and a source close to Lopez exclusively assured us the dating rumors were simply "not true."
Earlier that month, RadarOnline published a bogus report about Lopez allegedly getting back together with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Not only did the site claim they reunited, but it also said they were in the process of planning another wedding. After Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Lopez, we were assure she and her ex were most definitely "not together."
And finally, the National Enquirer claimed in September 2016 that Lopez was secretly dating Calvin Harris. The outlet contended that the (nonexistent) romance was sparked at the singer's birthday party last year, and the pair were seeing each other on the down-low in the weeks that followed. Of course, the magazine's report was entirely fictitious, as Gossip Cop was exclusively told by a source close to Lopez that she and Harris weren't a secret item.
Gossip Cop wishes Lopez a happy and rumor-free 48th birthday!
