One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez "could be days away from a split." The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can correct the bogus breakup rumor.

According to Woman's Day Australia, the couple got into a major fight while leaving a business meeting in Los Angeles. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Jen was giving Alex a look that could have killed. It was clear they'd been fighting over something big and that Jen was unhappy with Alex." The magazine, however, provides zero insight into what the singer and the former baseball star were supposedly arguing about. Still, the magazine's questionable insider adds, "They've been having problems for some time."

The alleged tipster goes on to say that the couple's issues include Lopez's "clinginess," "controlling ways" and "paranoia" over her boyfriend's "roving eye." The seemingly phony source adds, "She's also eager for him to propose, but he's dragging his feet. Hopefully they can work things out because everyone loves them as a couple."

Here's what the unreliable outlet doesn't mention. Lopez and Rodriguez are selling two of their New York City apartments so they can find a bigger space to live in together. Each star has two children from a previous marriage, and according to the New York Post, "They need something bigger for the family." On New Year's Eve, Rodriguez shared an Instagram photo of the couple with all four kids, along with the caption, "As the sun sets on 2018, from our family to yours... #HappyNewYear everyone!" As opposed to splitting up, the happy couple has continued blending their families.

The idea that Lopez is impatiently waiting for a proposal isn't true either. Less than two months ago, Lopez said in an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she doesn't know if she'll get engaged anytime soon, but she and Rodriguez are "very happy" together. Lopez also told USA Today last month that she and Rodriguez aren't rushing to get married. "We're happy. We're taking it day-by-day," the singer said. "2018 has really moved us to a place where we feel like a real family. That's nice. And it's good enough right now."

Meanwhile, Woman's Day has already proven to know very little about the couple's relationship. Nearly a year ago, the tabloid wrongly reported Lopez and Rodriguez would be getting married in Italy. That never happened. This latest article about the pair being "days away from a split" is similarly baseless.
