One of this week’s tabloids claims Jennifer Lopez wants Alex Rodriguez to sign a prenup with a “cheating clause.” The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can correct it.

According to In Touch, “there was a catch” before Lopez accepted her fiancé’s proposal earlier this month. A supposed source tells the magazine, “Before they marry, Jennifer wants him to sign an iron-clad prenup with a cheating clause to protect herself if he betrays her. She wants some assurance about their future.”

The outlet’s alleged insider adds, “She wants this marriage to last and loves Alex, but with three divorces under her belt, she’s aware that sometimes the fairy-tale ending doesn’t happen.” The seemingly phony source further contends that Rodriguez believes the singer is “being ridiculous” by including a cheating provision, but “he’s willing to prove his commitment to her by signing it. He won’t let it get in the way of their marriage.”

The tabloid’s story is entirely false. Just last week, Lopez told People magazine that she and Rodriguez are “really happy” together, adding, “We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most.” In a subsequent interview with the publication, Lopez made a point of noting that she and Rodriguez have “had some ups and downs” in their past relationships, but they’re “not defined by our mistakes and we get back to what matters.”

In addition to Lopez herself making it clear there’s no drama in her relationship, Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to the singer, who assures us the outlet’s report is nonsense. Lopez isn’t having any trust issues as she prepares to walk down the aisle, and she isn’t demanding that a “cheating clause” be included in any prenup the two may have. A rep qualified to speak on behalf of Rodriguez also laughed off the story.

Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the outlet’s phony article. In Touch has already proven to have little insight into the couple’s relationship. Last August, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Lopez and Rodriguez were having a “wedding and a baby.” The pair only got engaged a few weeks ago, and they’re certainly not expecting a child.

And back in April 2017, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Lopez and Rodriguez were signing a $760 million prenup. The two weren’t even close to getting married at that time. It’s clear the unreliable publication just makes up fake narratives about the singer and the former baseball star.
