One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Lopez wants to become "more of a housewife" for Alex Rodriguez. The premise is completely fabricated. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to the Globe, the singer plans to take a step back from show business so she can be more attentive to her boyfriend. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Jennifer wants to be the traditional partner that Alex needs."
The outlet's questionable source adds, "She's scaling back a little, especially the TV commitments that take tons of time and keep her based in L.A., which has never been a good fit with Alex's jet-set lifestyle and social circle in New York." The seemingly phony tipster further contends, "All her marriages fell apart because she was doing too much for her career and not enough for the husbands."
The magazine's storyline is simply made-up. For starters, the actress and singer hasn't scaled back on work. It was announced just this week that Lopez is producing a new cop drama for NBC, despite the tabloid claiming she's giving up her "TV commitments." Also this week, Lopez announced she's working on a new song with Bad Bunny. The singer teased the collaboration by sharing an Instagram video from the set of the music video. Meanwhile, Lopez's new movie Second Act hits theaters in December, so she's presumably gearing up to go on a promotional tour for the film.
It's very clear that Lopez has no interest in sitting home and being a "housewife," but Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the singer, who confirms there's no truth to the tabloid's report. Additionally, Rodriguez is a huge supporter of his girlfriend's career, and the two manage to spend plenty of quality time together despite their busy schedules.
Unfortunately, the Globe has a habit of making up stories about the singer and former MLB star's relationship. Last month, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming that Rodriguez was jealous of Lopez's Second Act co-star Milo Ventimiglia. Shortly before that nonsense, the tabloid made up a story about Justin Theroux pursuing a romance with Lopez, despite the fact that she's been in a committed relationship for more than a year and a half.
The publication clearly has little insight into Lopez and Rodriguez's relationship, so it makes up false stories about the couple instead. This latest nonsense about the singer becoming a "housewife" is another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
