Alex Rodriguez never "cheated on" Jennifer Lopez, despite a misleading and false tabloid report claiming the former MLB star is trying to regain his girlfriend's trust. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this nonsense. We're told it's entirely untrue.
According to Life & Style, Lopez and Rodriguez got into a huge fight after she supposedly discovered he's still in contact with his former fling, fitness model Lauren Hunter. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Someone went to Jennifer with new details that Alex was still texting with Lauren, and that's what made Jennifer lose it."
As the story goes, the former Yankee assured his girlfriend that his relationship with Hunter "wasn't physical," but Lopez maintained that being in contact with an ex-girlfriend behind her back is "still cheating." The questionable insider adds, "Alex's actions have jeopardized everything. [Jen] was heartbroken."
The seemingly phony source continues, "Even though they didn't meet in person, Jennifer considered it a betrayal. Now she has friends and family watching out for her best interests, which means checking in and asking about Alex's antics." As you may recall, Hunter told the National Enquirer in 2017 that Rodriguez was cheating on Lopez with her, but the former baseball player denied the claim. An insider, speaking on the condition of anonymity, even told Gossip Cop that the model had demanded money from him prior to alleging they had an affair.
Rodriguez and Lopez's relationship wasn't impacted by the tabloid rumors, but that hasn't stopped Life & Style from dredging up this old storyline. Gossip Cop, however, is told on background by a mutual friend of ours and Lopez that this latest take on the subject is simply "not true." Rodriguez isn't currently in touch with Hunter, so he and Lopez aren't fighting over a nonexistent scenario.
In fact, Lopez and Rodriguez celebrated their one-year anniversary last weekend in Minneapolis, where she headlined a pre-Super Bowl show. The happy couple clearly isn't on the verge of a breakup, despite what the unreliable tabloid suggests. Rodriguez also isn't "cheating" on his girlfriend, either through texts or in any other manner. This is simply a non-story. Actually, it seems the only thing Rodriguez does on his phone is post loving tributes to Lopez.
It should be noted, Life & Style has proven to have very little insight into Lopez and Rodriguez's relationship. Gossip Cop busted the publication last June for wrongly reporting that the couple had gotten engaged in Paris and were in the process of planning a French-themed wedding. Obviously, neither of those milestones occurred. This latest article trades in a marriage for a nonexistent cheating scandal, but it's equally false.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
