Jennifer Lawrence is not banning her parents from her wedding to Cooke Maroney, despite a false tabloid report claiming the actress is feuding with her folks. Gossip Cop can correct the story. It's completely fabricated.
According to NW, Lawrence has disinvited her parents Gary and Karen from her nuptials because her mom has been bad-mouthing her fiance. "Rumor is she's nixed them from the wedding," an alleged insider tells the outlet. "Karen is just as outspoken as her daughter, and made a comment about Cooke that Jen didn't like, so Jen told her, 'Don't bother coming to my wedding!"
The magazine doesn't bother to mention what it was that Lawrence's mom supposedly said (or where and when), but the so-called "source" maintains the actress's friends hope she'll make peace before her big day. "She's under a lot of stress planning the wedding, which could be why she snapped," adds the supposed tipster. "Once she calms down, things will blow over."
Nothing about the outlet's story is remotely true. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but tells us all of this drama is made-up. We're assured the actress isn't fighting with her parents and hasn't disinvited them from her wedding. The idea that Lawrence's mom has been speaking negatively about Maroney simply isn't the case.
Unfortunately, NW has already proven to have little insight into the actress's engagement. In March, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Lawrence's relationship with Maroney was in crisis because she wasn't happy about "uprooting" her life and moving to New York City for him. In reality, the actress had been living in New York prior to meeting the art gallery director.
Last year, Gossip Cop also called out the magazine for making up a story about Lawrence wanting to date filmmaker David O. Russell, who directed her in the movies Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy. The bogus article was written after the two were spotted grabbing dinner in New York. Lawrence's relationship with the director is purely platonic.
Also last year, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for wrongly reporting Lawrence was dating Joel Edgerton, her co-star in Red Sparrow. There was never a romance between the pair. It's clear the publication can't be trusted when it comes to getting accurate news about the actress's love life. The tabloid doesn't know much about Lawrence's relationship with her parents either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
