Is Jennifer Lawrence planning a summer wedding in her hometown of Kentucky, after which she’ll immediately have a baby? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

Earlier this month, the actress got engaged to boyfriend Cooke Maroney, who she’s been dating since last summer. OK! now claims to know all about Lawrence’s wedding plans. “She’s talking about a summer wedding in Kentucky, where she’s from,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “Just a small group of family and friends — exactly her style.”

The suspicious insider goes on to say that Lawrence has “always dreamed of getting married in her hometown of Louisville, at a historic mansion along the river.” The alleged tipster also maintains that the nuptials won’t be traditional as the actress won’t be having any bridesmaids or famous guests, but she’s making one exception by having Emma Stone deliver a big speech.

From there, the seemingly phony source claims Lawrence is eager to start a family once she ties the knot and is taking a break from her acting career to have a child. “No one would be surprised if getting pregnant was her first priority, or even if she was expecting before the wedding,” adds the questionable insider. “She knows Cooke will make a great dad, and her friends can totally see them making things official with a baby already on the way.”

Here’s what’s true about the tabloid’s story: Lawrence is engaged and will be getting married at some point in the future. Here’s what’s false: everything else. The actress’s rep, speaking on her behalf, says on the record that she’s not planning to get married in Kentucky this summer, nor is she having a baby right away. The unreliable outlet simply has no insight into Lawrence’s wedding and family plans. Gossip Cop can confirm that the article is completely made-up.

For further proof that OK! knows very little about the actress’s personal life, Gossip Cop can point to a December 2018 story, which said Lawrence was moving to New York City to be closer to her boyfriend. The problem with the report? The actress moved to New York some time ago and met Maroney while living there.

Meanwhile, the tabloid says Stone will be the one Hollywood friend that Lawrence is inviting to her wedding. In September 2017, however, Gossip Cop called out the publication for falsely claiming Lawrence and Stone were in a bitter feud stemming from jealousy and resentment. How exactly did the two actresses go from sworn enemies to such good friends that Stone has been deemed the maid of honor at Lawrence’s “wedding”?

Here’s what’s really happening. As soon as the news of Lawrence’s engagement went public, OK! decided to concoct an article surrounding her supposed wedding plans. The tabloid then threw in a baby for good measure. The outlet’s story is nothing but speculation mixed with fiction.
