Jennifer Lawrence is constantly the subject of bogus tabloid stories. Most of these false reports about the actress surround her love life. Gossip Cop now looks back at five recent wrong rumors about the movie star.
Last week, Gossip Cop busted Woman's Day for falsely claiming that Lawrence wanted to get back together with ex-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky. The false premise was very poorly timed. The New York Post also revealed last week that Lawrence is dating New York art gallery director Cooke Maroney. People went on to report that Lawrence and her new boyfriend have been spotted showing "PDA" in New York over the past few weeks. The actress is still good friends with Aronofsky, but she's not looking to rekindle their romance.
Gossip Cop called out NW last month for alleging that Lawrence wanted to date director David O. Russell, who she worked with on Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy. The phony report was published simply because the two were spotted out to dinner together. As noted above, the actress has a boyfriend. Additionally, E! News confirmed there's "nothing romantic going on" between Lawrence and Russell, whose relationship is "purely friendly and professional."
In March, OK! Australia made up a ridiculous story about Lawrence dating Rob Kardashian. The premise seemed to have been concocted because the actress is friendly with Kris Jenner and a fan of the family. The unreliable magazine, however, said Lawrence and Kardashian were going on "coffee dates and lunches." Only, the two were never once spotted together, despite both being paparazzi targets. Regardless, a rep for the actress confirmed to Gossip Cop she wasn't dating the reality star.
In February, Gossip Cop debunked an NW article claiming that Lawrence was dating her Red Sparrow co-star Joel Edgerton. Shortly after we corrected the bogus rumor, Lawrence herself said on "The Howard Stern Show" that she wasn't in a relationship with her co-star. Unfortunately, that didn't prevent other tabloids from publishing follow-up stories saying the actress was getting very serious with Edgerton. Considering she's now dating Cooke, that obviously wasn't the case.
And finally, Gossip Cop busted Star in December for publishing a phony cover story claiming that Lawrence was dating Brad Pitt. As soon as the report emerged, reps for both stars told us on the record they're not together. A few months later, Lawrence herself shot down reports about her dating Pitt. "No, I've met him once in like 2013, so it was very random," the actress said on "Watch What Happens Live" when asked if the romance rumors were true.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
