Jennifer Lawrence has not been getting plastic surgery ahead of her wedding to Cooke Maroney, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the phony story. There's simply no truth to it.
"J.Law's Shocking Wedding Face Makeover!" reads a headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article suggests the actress has been going under the knife as she prepares to walk down the aisle. A plastic surgeon who hasn't treated the actress speculates "she's had a facial-slimming procedure performed, as well as a build-up of her cheekbones." The doctor quoted in the magazine is basing his opinion on photos of the actress who he's presumably never met.
Another plastic surgeon, who hasn't treated Lawrence either, tells the tabloid she may have gotten "eyelid surgery" to change the shape of her eyes. "It's also possible she's had a conservative amount of injectable filler in her lips," adds the doctor, who's medical opinion is based solely on how the actress appeared in a red carpet image that was chosen by the magazine.
The tabloid's sister outlet, RadarOnline, published a similarly story on its website, but that article takes the narrative even further by alleging the actress has also gotten a nose job. This was based on the opinion of a doctor who was shown a recent photo of the actress compared to one taken almost a decade ago.
That same doctor, however, is also quoted as saying, "Of course the differences in the photos may be due to lighting and/or makeup." That and the fact that the 28-year-old actress doesn't look exactly the same as she did when she was 20. In addition to the actress having aged eight years, she's also smiling in the older photo and straight-faced in the newer one. Smiling changes the shape of one's nose.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actress, who wasn't able to speak on the record, but assures us both articles are nonsense. The actress hasn't been undergoing plastic surgery in advance of her wedding. The claim otherwise is simply baseless.
RadarOnline is the same blog that Gossip Cop busted last year for making up a story about Lawrence being unable to find a boyfriend. The actress started dating Maroney shortly after we busted that bogus report. Meanwhile, we've had to debunk several articles about the actress on the heels of her engagement earlier this year.
Gossip Cop recently called out OK!, the sister publication of both outlets mentioned above, for falsely claiming Lawrence was getting married in Kentucky this summer and having a baby. It's since been reported that the actress is looking to have her wedding in the New York area. There's also no indication she's starting a family at this time. This latest article involving pre-wedding plastic surgery is just more fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
