Is Jennifer Lawrence moving to New York? That's what is being claimed by a very ill-informed magazine. Gossip Cop can correct the report.
According to OK!, Lawrence is "risking it all" to move to the East Coast. A so-called "source" is quoted as telling the tabloid, "Jen's planning to ditch L.A. and move to NYC, even though her management team has warned her not to." The same questionable tipster adds, "Everyone's reminded her that all the big movie decisions are made in L.A., but Jen doesn't seem to care. She feels like she's been burned one too many times living in Hollywood."
Among the factors supposedly going into the Oscar winner's decision, alleges the publication, is that Lawrence "wants to be closer to her boyfriend, Cooke Maroney," who lives in New York. "This move isn't practical and could end up biting her in the [expletive], but Jen is set on following her heart," maintains the purported "source." The tabloid even terms the proposed move a "gamble" for the Silver Linings Playbook star.
There's one major flaw with the tabloid's story: Lawrence already lives in New York. And it's hardly affected her career. Nor has living in the Big Apple hurt the career of her frequent collaborator Bradley Cooper, who bought a townhouse in New York less a mile away from Lawrence. In fact, dozens of celebrities find New York has a lot more to offer than Los Angles, including such stars as Matt Damon, and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
Actually, Lawrence's apartment building seems to be home to a slew of celebrities like Harry Styles, Meg Ryan, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebel Wilson, and Justin Timberlake. Equally importantly, Gossip Cop can confirm that Lawrence's "team" has offices in New York, as well. So basically, the entire article is 100 percent false.
This is hardly the first time the tabloid has gotten it wrong about her. In 2014, OK! had to apologize to Lawrence for untruthfully claiming she was engaged to Nicholas Hoult on the cover of an issue. One would think the magazine would be more careful, but over the years Gossip Cop has busted the publication for printing several more phony articles about Lawrence being pregnant with Chris Martin's baby and erroneously linking her romantically to a number of other men.
For instance, Gossip Cop corrected the outlet when it falsely contended Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth were a couple and "in love." And we nailed the same publication for repeatedly being off-base about Lawrence dating Cooper. Much like those reports and others, the latest article about Lawrence moving to New York is similarly inaccurate.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
