Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson are NOT in a “bitter rivalry,” despite a bogus tabloid report. Gossip Cop can bust this story. We’re told it’s “complete B.S.”
Both Lawrence and Larson are nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Oscars, for Joy and Room, respectively, and now according to OK!, Lawrence sees her up-and-coming peer as a major threat. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Jen has a little competition headed her way… She’s kept an eye on Brie from a distance for a while now.”
The tabloid then goes on to allege that the two actresses butted heads at a recent roundtable interview for The Hollywood Reporter. “Jen just didn’t hit it off with Brie,” claims the magazine’s supposed insider. “She said Brie was a little uptight for her liking and that she couldn’t hang.” The outlet’s dubious source further claims Larson was “disappointed” by Lawrence’s alleged mean-girl vibe, because “she thought Jen would be a great ally in the industry.” The magazine’s seemingly phony source adds, “The last person Jen is looking to help is someone who could threaten her job security.”
The tabloid’s story gets even more ridiculous by dragging in Lawrence and Larson’s mutual friend Amy Schumer, who played the latter’s sister in Trainwreck. The magazine’s “source” claims Lawrence told Schumer to shun her co-star at the Golden Globes earlier this month, which was supposedly “awkward for Amy, because she really likes Brie and knew her long before she became friends with Jen.”
Despite how fictitious the outlet”s entire account sounds, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to Lawrence, who assures us this supposed feud is “complete B.S.” Lawrence and Larson have nothing but the utmost admiration for each other, and there are simply no issues between the two.
Unfortunately, the tabloid’s phony story doesn’t surprise us. Gossip Cop has repeatedly corrected OK! for making up tales about Lawrence, including multiple claims she was dating Bradley Cooper, and a phony cover story alleging she was pregnant with Chris Martin’s baby. The magazine’s latest report is similarly untrue.
