Is Jennifer Lawrence jealous of Bradley Cooper's friendship with Lady Gaga? That's the ridiculous claim in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop has the truth.
Lawrence and Cooper have co-starred together in several films over the past few years, including Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Serena and Joy. According to OK!, however, the actress feels replaced by Gaga following the success of A Star Is Born. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Jennifer and Bradley were so close for so long. She felt she could confide in him about anything that was going on in her life. But they don't talk nearly as much as they used to. Now he turns to Gaga to bounce ideas off of and get advice."
The magazine's so-called "insider" further contends that Lawrence "tries to laugh and say Bradley just found new ears for his old stories, but you can tell she's hurting." The seemingly phony tipster adds, "Bradley's friendship meant a lot to her. Jennifer is sad that Bradley seems to have moved on with Gaga."
The outlet's article is a complete work of fiction. In fact, this isn't the first time a tabloid has attempted to create drama between the trio. A few months ago, Gossip Cop busted OK!'s sister publication, In Touch, for falsely claiming Lawrence was angry at Cooper for casting Gaga in A Star Is Born instead of her. In reality, Lawrence praised the movie on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast. The actress called the movie "phenomenal," and in response to Cooper's work as a director, she added, "He's going to be one of the greats."
Lawrence herself has made it clear she's happy for her friend's success. The idea that she's jealous of her frequent co-star working with another actress is simply absurd. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who wasn't authorized to speak on the record but assures us that Cooper and Lawrence are still good pals. Gaga hasn't come between them, despite the magazine not seeming to understand that people can have more than one friend.
Unfortunately, OK! has a habit of making up stories about the actress's relationships with other stars. Gossip Cop previously called out the magazine for falsely maintaining Lawrence was feuding with Emma Stone. In the time since we debunked the claim, the two actresses interviewed each other for Elle magazine and have been spotted hanging out on several occasions. This latest article surrounding Lawrence's friendship with Cooper is equally baseless.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
