“Remember Me” is the first single from Hudson’s upcoming album, and her first new song since 2015. It is also the first release under her new record deal with Epic, which was announced last June. The song, which Hudson co-wrote, debuted in March, and Hudson gave the first performance of it on “The Voice UK.” Though a music video followed in April, the track hasn’t impacted the Billboard charts.

Hudson was a coach on season 6 of “The Voice UK,” which aired on ITV from January through early April. Impressively, her team member Mo Adeniran won, making Hudson the first female coach to win in the series’ history. It was a remarkable achievement that was sullied just days later when Star published a story falsely claiming Hudson was a “diva” on “The Voice” set. Gossip Cop busted the tall tale, and it was telling that the claims were only made after the season had ended.

But contrary to the article’s assertions, Hudson clearly made a positive impact during her run on the show, as she was then offered a coaching position on the U.S. edition. As announced earlier this month, she will be a coach for season 13 this fall, alongside veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as Miley Cyrus, who is returning after coaching in season 11. Hudson is taking Alicia Keys’ chair, and the program has already been promoting her addition to the series.

Just a few days ago, the NBC competition released a “digital exclusive” on YouTube called “Introducing Coach Jennifer Hudson!” The clip consisted entirely of footage of Hudson performing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” the iconic song from Dreamgirls. The star, of course, won an Oscar for her supporting role in the 2006 film adaptation of the musical. Check out that video below, as well as the “Remember Me” performance.
