Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are NOT renewing their vows, despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story, which has "no truth" to it.
The claim can be found in the new issue of Life & Style, which falsely announces, "Jen & Ben: Renewing Their Vows!" The accompanying article begins, "Now that Ben Affleck has completed a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction, his marriage to Jennifer Garner has been rehabbed, too. Things are going so well between Ben and Jen, both 44, they've decided to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary on June 29 with an intimate vow renewal ceremony."
"After the last few years that they've had, Jen is ready for a celebration," a so-called "insider" claims to the gossip magazine. "Ben has completely turned his life around. Not only is he sober, he's attending marriage counseling sessions and goes to church with Jen every Sunday."
The magazine contends Garner was originally planning to have the second wedding in her home state of West Virginia, but its supposed source asserts she's "now considering someplace beachy like Mexico for an intimate affair with their friends and close family." Adds the alleged tipster, "Jen and Ben have both worked so hard to get to this point, and they're ready to show their kids, their family and their friends that they're stronger than ever."
It all sounds very sweet, but these vow renewal claims are just tabloid fantasy. As Gossip Cop has accurately reported, Garner and Affleck maintain a friendly dynamic as they co-parent, but they are not back together as a couple. And Life & Style is not very trustworthy in this department considering it is the same publication that ran a cover story nearly a year ago wrongly declaring Garner was pregnant and the divorce was off.
This also isn't the first time Gossip Cop has busted false tales of a vow renewal. Last fall, Star similarly claimed in a fabricated cover story that a supposedly pregnant Garner had renewed her vows with Affleck. And Life & Style sister publication, In Touch, untruthfully said Affleck was going to renew his vows with Garner last May.
Time has shown Gossip Cop was right in each case, and now we have exclusively confirmed again that there is no vow renewal currently in the works, with one impeccable contact telling us there's "no truth" to the claim. But given that the estranged spouses' anniversary is still more than two months away, Gossip Cop fully expects the tabloid to make up more inaccurate stories before then.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
