Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel are not in a “secret romance,” despite a false tabloid cover story claiming the pair started dating after meeting on a film set last year. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this report. We’re told it’s simply not true.
Duhamel announced his split from wife Fergie last September, but according to the latest issue of OK!, he and Garner got close while shooting their upcoming movie Love, Simon last March. “Finding each other at that particular moment turned out to be a blessing,” says a so-called “source,” who further contends that the two shared intimate lunches and dinners throughout production.
The outlet’s questionable insider goes on to speculate that Duhamel gave Garner the courage to officially file for divorce from Ben Affleck last April, adding, “Anyone in Jen’s shoes, after all she went through with Ben, would doubt whether they could ever trust a man again. But Josh is truly a good guy, and spending time with him opened her up emotionally.”
The suspicious insider next theorizes that Affleck and Fergie may stand in the way of their respective exes’ supposed relationship because both are “pretty self-absorbed and no doubt assumed they’d always have their former partners to fall back on.” The alleged tipster concludes, “But they’ll need to work hard to put a dent in Josh and Jen’s high spirits. They’re in their own bubble and probably wouldn’t even notice.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Garner, who exclusively assures us that there is absolutely no truth to the tabloid’s article. We’re told there’s nothing romantic going on between the Love, Simon co-stars. It seems this false narrative was concocted simply because the actor and actress are both single and recently worked together. In fact, Garner herself recently admitted she’s “not interested in dating” and hasn’t “been on a date,” including with Duhamel, since her split from Affleck. This is a non-story.
