Is Jennifer Garner dating and already in love again? That's the rumor that's been floating around in the tabloids, both here in the U.S. and abroad. Gossip Cop, however, can confirm the actress is still single.
The U.K. edition of Closer claims Garner has not only "found love again," but that it's with Josh Duhamel, her co-star in the upcoming movie Love, Simon. "Jen and Josh grew close while filming and romance blossomed. They bonded over their public marriage breakdowns and developed a deep connection," a so-called "source" is quoted as saying. Garner, of course, separated from Ben Affleck in 2015 and filed for divorce in early 2017. That fall, Duhamel and his wife Fergie announced they had split a few months before.
Now Garner and Duhamel's alleged relationship is supposedly progressing. The outlet claims she "introduced" the actor "to her close pals, including Jessica Biel and Reese Witherspoon, during a dinner party at her L.A. home last week." "Jen was nervous about introducing Josh to her friends, but she wanted to prove she's serious with him," contends the purported tipster.
The publication maintains they two are so serious that "Jen and Josh are discussing their future." Its alleged snitch asserts, "The next step will be introducing [their respective] kids. Jen said she's ready to go to public." Well, Garner and Duhamel may indeed be seen together in the coming months. But that's because Love, Simon is due to hit theaters in March and the colleagues are likely to come together for premieres and screenings, in addition to press junkets.
But if and when Garner and Duhamel are publicly seen together at that time, it will be for work reasons only and not because of a "serious" relationship between them. Notably, production on Love, Simon took place nearly a year ago and the pair haven't been seen with one another since then. That's because, like most actors working on a finite project together, they went their separate ways afterwards. And they'll go their separate ways again the film's press tour.
This unsubstantiated romantic link was first manufactured almost a month ago by OK! here in America, which claimed Garner and Duhamel were in a "secret romance." Gossip Cop exclusively learned that no such romance existed and the allegation was untrue. Still, the narrative spread to Australia, where NW claimed the actor was "romancing" his on-screen partner off-screen. And then just days ago, OK! went even further with a cover story insisting Duhamel had met Garner's kids and they were close to moving in together. As we pointed out then, the magazine had no proof for its claim, so it photoshopped a picture to deceive readers.
Now here's the British Closer offering its own take. But it doesn't matter if this storyline next spreads from Argentina to Zimbabwe or anywhere else. There's still no truth to it. This latest article even acknowledges that Garner said a few months ago she wasn't interested in dating. Well, Gossip Cop is told on background that's still the case, despite these claims. But should that change some day, we'll have the accurate details.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
