One of this week's tabloids claims Jennifer Garner is ending her romance with new boyfriend John Miller because he's jealous of her ex-husband Ben Affleck. The story is completely fictional. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to the National Enquirer, the CaliGroup CEO recently blew up over how much time the actress has been spending with Affleck since finalizing their divorce in October. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Jen's seen a side of John that she really didn't like, and she realizes now she doesn't want to rush into anything."
The outlet's supposed source continues, "John let her know he's not OK with Ben being around so much. He respects the fact that Jen wants to help the father of their kids get sober, but he believes he's taking advantage of the situation and showing up whenever he wants to."
The "tipster" goes on to say that Garner is fine with dumping Miller "if he can't handle" her dedication to Affleck's recovery. "Jen and Ben still speak almost daily and she isn't about to change that just because the guy she's dating is uncomfortable," adds the seemingly phony source. "She's ready to walk away for the sake of her family."
The drama described by the magazine is entirely made-up. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the actress, who wasn't authorized to speak on the record, but assures us there's no truth to the tabloid's article. Just last week, Garner and Miller were spotted meeting up for breakfast in Santa Monica. Their outing came shortly after other outlets had wrongly reported the two had split.
As we've also recently noted, Garner and Miller's relationship appears to be casual at the moment. Reputable publications such as People and E! News have confirmed that the pair are still getting to know each other and aren't seriously dating just yet. The idea that Miller believes the actress should be devoting all of her time to him simply isn't accurate.
Meanwhile, there's no question that the Enquirer makes up stories about the actress's new romance. Last month, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Garner was pregnant with Miller's baby, and it's the reason she finalized her divorce from Affleck. Not only was that report absurdly wrong, but this latest article makes no mention of the actress expecting a child. The unreliable outlet seems to come up with new narratives on whim.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
