Jennifer Aniston is hiring a surrogate and plans to raise the baby alone, according to a completely false report from the tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. A rep tells us there is no merit to the allegations.

The new issue of Star features a headline exclaiming, "Jen To Justin: I'll Raise Our Baby Alone!" Aniston, however, never made any such statement. Still, the tabloid contends the actress is "more determined than ever to become a mom, even if it means she has to raise a child without" husband Justin Theroux. Mind you, this is coming from the same gossip magazine that wrongly claimed Aniston was pregnant in a February cover story. Notably, that fabricated pregnancy is not mentioned in this new piece, which alleges Aniston's marriage to Theroux is "on the rocks," and so she's now making plans for single motherhood.

"Privately, she has told friends that she's secretly gone ahead and hired a surrogate mother to carry her child to birth. And she's vowed to raise the baby alone," a so-called "insider" is quoted as saying. If this was done "privately" and "secretly," why would someone be spilling about it to a tabloid? That's not addressed, nor is it explained why the purported "insider" contradicts him- or herself at the end of the article. "I hear she's even told friends she's hoping she'll be able to choose the right woman in the next few months," this supposed source then claims, despite saying earlier in the story that Aniston has already "gone ahead and hired a surrogate."

So, which is it? Has Aniston already "hired" someone or is she only "hoping" to do so? The answer is neither. These contentions are all made up, but the outlet babbles on and on about these surrogacy plans, even claiming her decision to go this route was "swayed" by Nicole Kidman, who used a surrogate in 2011. "Jen seems adamant that going ahead with a surrogacy birth is right for her," asserts the publication's purported tipster.

Well, Gossip Cop is adamantly going to say none of this is true. Aniston's marriage to Theroux isn't "on the rocks," and she isn't threatening to have a baby and raise the child without him. Furthermore, there are no current plans to move ahead via surrogacy with or without the actor as her partner. In fact, a rep for Aniston bluntly tells Gossip Cop, "It's more of the same crap that has no foundation in the truth."

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
