Jennifer Aniston did not have a showdown with her “Friends” co-stars, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, over Brad Pitt. A new report claims the women are at odds over the actress having a “reunion” with her ex, but it’s completely wrong. Gossip Cop can bust the story.

According to New Idea, Aniston and Pitt have been “spending more and more time together” in the wake of his split from Angelina Jolie, but Cox and Kudrow are “dead against the former couple’s renewed closeness.” The Australian tabloid alleges the former colleagues are “furious” and “lashed out” at Aniston, as they’re “angry that she’s putting her marriage to Justin Theroux at risk by allowing her A-list ex back into her life.” The magazine claims Cox and Kudrow are “disappointed” that she’s not only “forgotten” the pain Pitt caused her, but also the “lengths they went to in helping their broken friend rebuild her life.”

“For years, Courteney and Lisa were there for Jen morning, noon and night after Brad broke her heart… She has come so far in rebuilding her life and heart, and marrying Justin was the best thing she’s done,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. “But now that she’s spending so much time with Brad, Courteney and Lisa can’t help but think that she’s risking everything.”

The outlet’s supposed snitch maintains they’re “worried,” even though Aniston insists “it’s all fine with Justin” and she’s only “just friends” with Pitt. “What happens if Brad decides to dump Jen from his life like he did before?” asks the alleged tipster. “Lisa and Courteney, especially, know that it will be on them to help her pick up the pieces.” The publication even claims “the strain could be seen on Lisa’s face during a recent night in L.A,” which purportedly came after a “series of heated phone conversations she had with Courteney and Jen.”

To boost its tale, the Aussie tabloid repeats the already debunked claims about Aniston meeting Pitt’s kids, and uses them to contend, “Despite the apparent innocence of the meeting, it is easy to see why Courteney and Lisa are so worried.” And to further substantiate its assertions, the magazine also points to various quotes Aniston, Cox and Kudrow have given about supporting one another over the years. One of the examples provided is Cox telling “ET” that Aniston shouldn’t be dragged into Pitt’s split.

There’s no denying the women are close. Cox even met up with Kudrow’s father last month. But all of these claims about a “showdown” over Pitt are patently false. The premise rests on the notion that Aniston has been spending time with the actor, but there has not been any kind of “reunion” between the former spouses. Nor has she met Pitt’s children. New Idea is peddling made-up drama that’s best left for TV shows.
