Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon started filming their Apple TV series last week, but leading up to production, there were a lot of false stories about the co-stars. Gossip Cop has debunked several inaccurate reports about both the actresses and their upcoming show. Here are a few wrong rumors.

Last week, Gossip Cop called out HollywoodLife for falsely claiming that Aniston was “extremely anxious” and “nervous” to return to TV. The blog alleged that the actress felt extreme pressure for her show with Witherspoon to be a hit, and wasn’t enjoying filming as a result. The phony story was based on claims from an anonymous “source,” but Aniston’s spokesperson told us, “It’s just the opposite. She is extremely excited about the show especially with the amazing cast of actors,” including Witherspoon. The actress’s rep added, “They are already having a blast and they have only started filming this week.”

In May, Gossip Cop busted OK! for making up a story about Witherspoon setting up Aniston on a date with Jake Gyllenhaal. Witherspoon, who herself dated the actor in the mid-2000s, was said to have played matchmaker for the two because Gyllenhaal “likes the older ladies.” There was one major problem with the outlet’s premise. Aniston and Gyllenhaal’s secret dinner date was said to have taken place in April in New York City, but the actor was in Los Angeles at that time filming his upcoming movie Velvet Buzzsaw. Gyllenhaal own spokesperson confirmed that he wasn’t in New York in late April and never met Aniston for dinner.

In April, Gossip Cop debunked a Woman’s Day Australia story about Aniston making peace with Angelina Jolie at Witherspoon’s 42nd birthday party. The tabloid claimed that Witherspoon invited both actresses to her bash in an effort to get the two to bury the hatchet. Not only did Aniston’s rep confirm the story was “made-up,” but there was no indication that Witherspoon even threw a big birthday party this year. In the past, the actress’s star-studded parties would make headlines, but this year, Witherspoon only acknowledged her birthday with an Instagram photo in which she’s having cake with her son.

And last year, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming that Aniston and Witherspoon were fighting over getting equal pay for their TV series. Not only did reps for both actresses dismiss the report, but the project was put together through their mutual talent agency CAA, which negotiated the deals for each star. Aniston and Witherspoon, who are both executive producing their Apple series, in addition to co-starring, are receiving the exact same salary.
