A tabloid claims Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon's friendship has been ruined after they clashed while working together on their upcoming TV series "The Morning Show." Nothing about the story is remotely true. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
According to OK!, the actress's upcoming Apple series has taken a detrimental toll on their relationship. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Working together so closely has been difficult. They signed on for this thinking it would be a dream job. They've always had so much in common and had a blast working together in the past on 'Friends.' But the problem is that professionally, they're too much alike."
The anonymous insider further contends that Aniston and Witherspoon are both "used to calling the shots" on set, which "led to a lot of problems" during filming. Making matters worse, says the outlet, is that the pair realized "they don't have much to talk about anymore." "Reese's kids are her life. When she's not working, she's with them," says the suspicious tipster, adding that Aniston spends her free time "doing yoga or traveling."
The seemingly phony source goes on to say that Aniston and Witherspoon "have slowly stopped socializing outside of work," while those close to both of them fear their friendship may be irreparably damaged. "It's sad because they were so close for so long," adds the so-called "insider." "But they've grown apart and are just gritting their teeth trying to get through this experience without embarrassing themselves."
The tabloid's story is based on claims from an untraceable and possibly made-up "source," but Gossip Cop reached out to Aniston's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's "absolutely false." Despite what the magazine's questionable insider says, a rep for the "Friends" star assures us she and Witherspoon "are great friends" and had a blast making their new show together.
Unfortunately, the gossip media keeps insisting on creating imaginary drama between the two actresses. Just last week, Gossip Cop busted OK!'s sister publication, Star, for falsely claiming Witherspoon had ditched Aniston to become closer friends with Kerry Washington. Last year, we called out the tabloid's other sister outlet, Life & Style, for wrongly reporting that Aniston and Witherspoon were feuding on the set of "The Morning Show" due to a power struggle.
And back when the Apple series was first announced back in 2017, OK! falsely alleged Aniston and Witherspoon were battling over equal pay. In reality, the actresses have been friends for two decades and working together hasn't negatively impacted their relationship. Gossip Cop can confirm that all of this tension being created by the tabloids is nonexistent.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
