One of the tabloids claims Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s upcoming Apple series is being sabotaged by Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, who are supposedly planning a show of their own. The story is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.

According to the National Enquirer, Aniston’s former “Friends” co-stars are plotting to stab her in the back by doing a new series without her. “They always got along and want to work together again. But Jen’s always busy with a million projects, so Courteney didn’t even bother asking her to join them,” a supposed source tells the magazine. “This will leave Jen stinging.”

The alleged insider goes on to say that Aniston sees Cox and Kudrow’s collaboration as a “competitive move,” as they’re teaming up “just as Jen’s Apple series with Reese Witherspoon gets underway.” There’s one major issue with the tabloid’s phony story: Cox and Kudrow don’t have a TV show in the works.

This narrative popped up in the tabloids earlier this month when Woman’s Day Australia falsely claimed Aniston was upset about her “Friends” co-stars making a show without her. Several sources close to the situation, however, told Gossip Cop that Cox and Kudrow aren’t developing a series together.

This premise seems to have been concocted simply because Cox and Kudrow had a mini “Friends” reunion on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last month. Kudrow made a surprise visit during Cox’s appearance to promote her new Facebook Watch docuseries about pregnancy. The duo, however, didn’t announce they had their own show in the works. There’s also not a single Hollywood trade publication reporting that the two are teaming up on a project.

This wouldn’t be the first time the Enquirer has attempted to create a rift between Aniston and Cox. Back in December, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for falsely claiming Cox didn’t invite Aniston to her “Irish wedding” to boyfriend Johnny McDaid. Only, the actress never got married in Ireland and therefore didn’t snub her friend from a nonexistent ceremony.

Meanwhile, the unreliable outlet has already used Aniston’s upcoming series as the basis for a fake feud. Last October, Gossip Cop busted the publication for wrongly reporting that Aniston was battling with Julia Roberts over whose TV series would be a bigger hit. The inaccurate report failed to mention that Roberts’ Amazon show “Homecoming” debuted last year, while Aniston is still shooting her Apple series, which doesn’t have a premiere date yet.

To reiterate, Cox and Kudrow don’t have a TV series in the works, which means they aren’t attempting to compete with Aniston and Witherspoon’s Apple show. It must also be mentioned, Cox posted a loving tribute to Aniston on Instagram last week in honor of her friend’s 50th birthday. Both Cox and Kudrow also attended their former co-star’s birthday bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. The magazine’s attempt to stir up drama and create a TV showdown is flat-out baseless.
