Jennifer Aniston is not “finally pregnant,” nor was she seen “cradling [a] baby bump,” despite a report from a tabloid. Gossip Cop can bust this untrue story. We can also show how this magazine has a history of peddling false pregnancy stories about the actress.

The latest claim comes from New Idea, which last November published a cover story wrongly announcing Aniston was pregnant and adopting with Justin Theroux. Gossip Cop rightly debunked the bogus report, and she and Theroux split a few months later. Then in May, another cover declared Aniston was “pregnant and in hiding.” That article maintained the baby daddy was Brad Pitt. Of course, that too was untrue.

Now in July, the outlet again wants readers to think Aniston is expecting. According to the publication, the “Friends” star has a “noticeably rounder frame and fuller face,” and “rumors are flying on the set of her latest project, with pals saying Jennifer could finally be pregnant.” A so-called “source” is quoted by the tabloid as saying, “She’s told some close friends that she can’t wait to finally show off her bump and share the happy news with her fans.”

Note how this untraceable “source” is relaying what Aniston allegedly “told some close friends.” That indicates the “source” doesn’t have any firsthand knowledge Aniston is expecting, nor does the tabloid have any confirmation that she’s actually pregnant. This suspicious sourcing is also evident when the magazine asserts Aniston has “reportedly told pals she’s been feeling extremely nauseous during filming,” and further claims that its “insider also reveals that friends have been told the baby’s due in January 2019.”

Curiously, the father of this alleged child isn’t named, but the outlet once again untruthfully maintains Aniston has “rekindled a relationship with Brad Pitt.” Nothing is said about the baby they were supposedly expecting in May, or about the pregnancy and adoption from last fall. Ironically, the publication does go on to note she has “often talked about how challenging she finds the constant speculation about why she doesn’t have children.”

Apparently the tabloid doesn’t realize how it its false stories contribute to the problem, which Aniston addressed in an essay for Huffington Post almost exactly two years ago. “For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of ‘journalism,’ the ‘First Amendment’ and ‘celebrity news,'” she wrote.

This story, with its contentions that Aniston has been seen “cradling [a] growing baby bump,” is exactly the kind of problematic article to which she was referring. The photos New Idea uses to support its narrative are a week-old, and were taken as Aniston went to the movies in Montreal during a break from shooting Murder Mystery. But it’s only this magazine that decided to sensationalize the non-scandalous, non-revealing pictures for the sake of a manufactured pregnancy storyline.

And while the outlet is trying to dupe people into thinking the actress is now three months into a pregnancy, less than two weeks ago her spokesperson confirmed Aniston is not pregnant. When January 2019 rolls around, Gossip Cop will be sure to point out that the publication delivered another dud.
