Jennifer Aniston is not moving to New York, despite a claim. The story alleges the actress has to relocate to Manhattan for work, and is planning to “avoid” Justin Theroux. Gossip Cop has exclusively learned this is all untrue.
“Awkward! Inside Jen’s Plan To Avoid Justin As She Preps Move To NYC For New Show,” reads the headline of this false article from RadarOnline. The catalyst for the bogus narrative appears to be Aniston’s project for Apple with Reese Witherspoon. The program is a drama about the world of morning news shows.
The site contends Aniston is “moving to New York to film her new series… and she’ll be dangerously close” to Theroux, who resides in the city. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Jen will be living full time in New York while the show is shot.” The blog’s untraceable tipster claims Aniston conceived of the series long before she and Theroux separated earlier this year, fully aware that he preferred living in the East Coast locale.
“Back then she was thinking it would bring her closer to Justin, but now it’s taken on a whole new turn [after their breakup] by placing her in Justin’s stomping ground,” alleges the purported snitch, who adds, however, “She’s lived [in New York] twice before and knows her way around, well enough to avoid any awkward run-ins with Justin.” That said, it’s also claimed Aniston is “making sure their social circles don’t overlap, and cutting out anyone with ties” to Theroux.
The website maintains production will begin October 1, with Aniston “expected to film in the Big Apple until the end of the year.” But this is factually inaccurate. “The Apple show with Reese will shoot [primarily] in Los Angeles, not New York, and she has no plans to move there,” Aniston’s spokesperson tells Gossip Cop exclusively. Filming in New York will only take place for a “few days” to capture exteriors. Reveals the rep, “90 percent of it will film in L.A.”
As such, Aniston has no need to start “living full time in New York.” The contention about “cutting out anyone with ties” to her ex doesn’t make sense, either, given that they still have a lot of mutual friends. Aniston and Theroux even both managed to go to a birthday party for Jimmy Kimmel’s son in April. There is no evidence that their “social circles” have had to significantly change due to their split, though the outlet has spent months trying to push that false narrative.
What’s also striking is that almost four months ago, this same publication insisted Aniston wanted to get back together with Theroux. If that was the case, surely she wouldn’t need to “avoid” him in New York, and she wouldn’t be concerned about any pals they may share. The reason for the disconnect between these stories is obvious: RadarOnline’s anonymous “sources,” like the one quoted in this new article, aren’t very reliable.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
