A story claiming Jennifer Aniston had a “secret miscarriage” is not true. Gossip Cop originally busted this allegation in 2016, but a tabloid is shamefully regurgitating it now in the wake of her split from Justin Theroux. We can set the record straight again.

In November of 2016, the National Enquirer alleged Aniston had “suffered a devastating miscarriage” a few months prior. A so-called “source” was quoted as saying, “Jen was in a very dark place after she lost her baby.” To bring “some happiness to her life” and get her “close to her dream of having her own child,” the gossip magazine’s supposed snitch claimed Aniston was going to adopt from a Mexican orphanage. At the time, however, a rep for the actress dismissed the report, even telling Gossip Cop the outlet was “disgusting” for fabricating such a narrative.

Suffice it to say, Aniston never adopted a Mexican orphan. Curiously, that aspect is left out of the publication’s retelling, which currently appears on its website under the headline, “PRIVATE PAIN: Jennifer Aniston’s Secret Miscarriage Heartbreak.” The supermarket tabloid maintains her marriage to Theroux was “falling apart in its first year” because her “attempt to have a miracle baby… ended in heartbreaking failure.” It’s specifically alleged Aniston “suffered a tragic miscarriage in the second month of a secret IVF pregnancy.”

“The shocking loss would have only added more stress to Jennifer’s troubled marriage,” speculates the magazine, further suggesting it was a “tragedy that may have doomed her marriage.” Aniston is described has having been “confused and conflicted,” with it alleged “losing the baby… only intensified those feelings.” Nothing is said about the aforementioned adoption plans. But the outlet does note, “Jennifer’s rep both denied that the star was pregnant and that she suffered a miscarriage.”

Why, then, is the publication peddling these claims again as if they’re fact? It seems the tabloid is desperate to exploit the recent breakup. As Gossip Cop previously pointed out, the National Enquirer also recycled false contentions from 2012 and 2016 to allege Aniston and Theroux split because he had an “other woman.” Apparently the magazine is digging into its archives and repeating its years-old tall tales regardless of accuracy, just to make it seem like it has insight on the couple ending their relationship now in 2018.

Aniston and Theroux wanted a baby early on in their romance, but as People reported a few days ago, “She has been sad that it never happened, but it never consumed her.” The reputable publication further noted that while they were “disappointed kids didn’t come into their lives, they didn’t let it devastate them.” This goes directly against the tabloid’s suggestion that a supposed miscarriage “doomed her marriage.” Furthermore, no credible outlet has reported anything about Aniston and Theroux losing a baby.
