Jennifer Aniston and the rest of her “Friends” co-stars are not sending Matthew Perry to rehab, despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. We’re told it’s simply not true.

Earlier this month, Perry wrote on Twitter that he had been “kicked out of therapy,” and according to RadarOnline, the actor’s former castmates are concerned for his well-being. It’s worth noting, Perry posted a follow-up tweet clarifying that he was referring to “one session” and was “back in therapy.”

Still, an alleged insider tells the blog that Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer “are all united in their fears over Matt, as well as their shared mission to get him back on track.”

The supposed source further contends that the “Friends” stars are planning “to pitch in for some top-quality rehab treatment if that’s what it takes, plus a big personal loan to get him back on his feet.” With a reported net worth of $80 million, it’s safe to say Perry can afford his own rehab and isn’t hurting for a loan.

The website’s bogus story is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable tipster, but Gossip Cop reached out to Perry’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record it’s “ridiculous.” Despite what the outlet’s unidentified “source” says, a rep qualified to speak on the actor’s behalf confirms his “Friends” co-stars aren’t sending him to rehab.

It’s worth noting, the gossip media has come up with many variations of this theme. Back in September, Gossip Cop called out RadarOnline’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for making up a story about Aniston asking Brad Pitt to help Perry get sober. Shortly before that, we busted the blog’s other sister outlet, the Globe, for falsely claiming Aniston and her “Friends” co-star were staging an intervention for Perry.

Both of those stories also came from seemingly nonexistent “insiders.” Conversely, Aniston’s rep told Gossip Cop on the record that there was no truth to the ongoing narrative. That remains the case. Perry has been open about his struggle with addiction, and the blog and its related publications seem to be exploiting his issues by coming up with phony premises.

It’s worth noting, RadarOnline isn’t particularly consistent when it comes to making up stories. Back in 2017, we busted the blog for wrongly reporting that Aniston “hates” Perry. That article wasn’t true either, but why exactly would the actress be invested in her former co-star’s recovery if she “hates” him? The only explanation is that the website concocts new narratives on a whim.
