Is Jennifer Aniston moving on from Leonardo DiCaprio to Johnny Depp? That's the completely fictional storyline in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can correct it.
Last month, Woman's Day Australia attempted to create a fake romance between Aniston and DiCaprio simply because the actress went to his 44th birthday party in Los Angeles. Gossip Cop debunked the false report, which has since blown up in the tabloid's face. As we've noted, DiCaprio has been dating model Camila Morrone for nearly a year. She wasn't able to attend his party, but the couple has since been spotted spending time together in Los Angeles and France. Recent reports have also suggested that their relationship is getting increasingly serious.
Instead of acknowledging its mistake, the magazine is trying to save face by alleging that the actress ended her fling with DiCaprio. However, the outlet didn't stop there. It's now insisting that Aniston is ready to date another movie star. The magazine says that the actress has asked friends to set her up on a lunch date with Depp. "She's always found him cute," a supposed source tells the tabloid. "They've run into each other a bunch of times in the past and always gotten on great."
The questionable insider goes on to say that Aniston isn't concerned with Depp's recent controversies, including his acrimonious divorce from Amber Heard and allegations of physical abuse. "Jen feels Johnny's had a terrible run of bad luck and, like her, he chose his long-term partners extremely badly," says the suspicious tipster. "Jen is actively looking for a guy. She wants a boyfriend who doesn't mind being trailed by her bodyguard all the time and who isn't intimidated by her fame."
This premise isn't accurate, and it's not particularly new either. Gossip Cop already busted the Globe last month for falsely claiming that Aniston wanted to date Depp. The story was based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but the actress's own rep said on the record that it was untrue. Meanwhile, People magazine recently reported that Aniston "isn't concerned about dating" and "is happy to focus on work."
"Entertainment Tonight" recently published a story about Aniston's "perfectly happy single life," noting that she "feels more centered than ever because she's not dating anyone and she's perfectly happy." The actress isn't dating anyone at the moment, let alone moving on from one movie star to another. This ongoing saga is a work of fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
