Did Jennifer Aniston confront Justin Theroux and tell him to stop stalking her? That's the story in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can set the record straight.
An article in the latest issue of Star says Theroux has been spending an increasing amount of time in Los Angeles, despite insisting he prefers living in New York City. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "Everyone knows Justin never wanted to live in California while he was with Jen because he's such a New Yorker at heart. It was one of the biggest sticking points in their marriage. But now he can't get enough of L.A.!"
The outlet further contends that the actor has been going to all of Aniston's favorite Hollywood hotspots in the hopes of staging a run-in. According to the tabloid's supposed source, the actress finally confronted her estranged husband earlier this month after she realized he was following her around while she attended various holiday parties. "She'd discovered he was staying at a hotel just a few doors down from her, and in her mind, that was proof he was trying to get under her skin."
During the supposed confrontation, Aniston accused her ex of using her status to stay in the limelight, says the questionable tipster, who adds, "It's not lost on Jen that Justin's star power increased after they got together. But she refuses to let him ride her coattails one minute longer. She's ready to move on."
The tabloid's ridiculous premise is based on claims from an anonymous and untraceable "source," but Aniston's own spokesperson is going on the record to dismiss it as nonsense. Despite what the magazine's seemingly imaginary "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actress's behalf says Theroux isn't stalking her, and there was never a confrontation between the two.
Of course, this isn't the first time the publication has created nonexistent drama between the exes. Back in June, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming that Aniston "confronted" Emma Stone over her so-called "romance" with Theroux. Only, the "Maniac" co-stars were never in a relationship.
In March, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Aniston and Theroux were headed for showdown in court over their fortune. As time has shown, the exes haven't had any sort of legal battle over money. This latest article is more fiction from the unreliable outlet.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
