One of this week’s tabloids is calling Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s New Year’s trip to Mexico a “strange reunion,” but there’s no truth to the article. The happy spouses simply enjoyed a vacation together, despite an unreliable outlet trying to spin the narrative. Gossip Cop can exclusively clear up the situation.

After spending months insisting that the couple was headed for a divorce and “leading separate lives,” Life & Style was proven wrong in December when Aniston and Theroux traveled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a New Year’s vacation. But instead of admitting it got the story wrong, the magazine is doubling down by contending that the couple brought along friends on their trip because they can’t bear to be alone together.

Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda happened to have accompanied Aniston and her husband to Mexico, which prompted a so-called “source” to tell the magazine, “They chose to go with friends during this particular difficult time in their marriage. A week alone would have been too strained. They felt it would be easier and more relaxed just to have some friends come along.”

However, this assertion is completely baseless. Aniston and Theroux have a long history of vacationing with their famous friends. Over the years, they’ve been joined on trips by Courteney Cox, Jimmy Kimmel, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Howard Stern and more stars. Unfortunately, the magazine still quotes an alleged insider as saying, “The truth is that the marriage has been crumbling. It’s now make-or-break time for them and their marriage.”

It should be noted, Life & Style posted an abridged version of this bogus story on its website, but combined it with an older and equally untrue article surrounding the actress’s supposed “reunion” with Brad Pitt. Regardless, Gossip Cop is exclusively assured by a source close to Aniston and Theroux that there’s “no truth” to the tabloid’s account of events. The couple didn’t invite their friends on vacation to avoid nonexistent marriage problems, and the claim otherwise is completely baseless.
