Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are not in the midst of the "nastiest divorce ever," despite a sensational new tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can bust the unsubstantiated report. It should be noted, neither star has even filed for divorce.

But Life & Style is claiming Aniston and Theroux are embroiled in a legal dispute that has turned into an "all-out war." Contends the magazine, "As Jen and Justin's legal teams jostle over her $200 million fortune, the anything-but-friendly exes have resorted to hurling accusations and insults at each other in what's turned into the nastiest Hollywood divorce ever." The outlet brings up Aniston's recent InStyle cover story, in which she said she's "not heartbroken," with a so-called "insider" deeming the interview her "big 'F you' to Justin.'"

"She blames him for dragging his feet on their divorce," claims the untraceable source. The publication maintains Aniston and Theroux had a prenup "stating she'd keep her $200 million and he'd walk away with his $20 million," but it's alleged he has "instructed his lawyer to try to go after half" of the actress' "net worth." A purported "mutual pal" asserts, "Justin feels like he put up with an insecure, jealous and reclusive partner for seven years — two and a half of them married — so he deserves half." As for Aniston's supposed perspective, the tabloid's "insider" claims "her legal team is making sure Justin gets absolutely nothing."

The rest of the article is filled out with contentions about how "their fight has gotten dirty," with Aniston allegedly claiming she's responsible for Theroux's career, accusing him of cheating and sending "vicious emails" his way. It's further said Theroux has "reconnected" with his ex, Heidi Bivens, which is "adding fuel to the fire of Jen's humiliation and anger." The magazine asserts he and Aniston are now "caught in a vicious cycle of long-distance one-upping" by hanging out with other people and looking their best. An alleged "second insider" even asserts, "Jen isn't holding back when it comes to flaunting her revenge body."

Life & Style first peddled this ridiculous claim about Aniston getting "revenge" on Theroux by looking hot in last week's issue. As Gossip Cop pointed out then, the "Friends" star looks the same as she has for years. The outlet also now repeats false allegations about Theroux having "romps" with Emma Stone, Sienna Miller and other women, and wrongly contends Aniston has been "talking" to Brad Pitt since the split. In fact, Gossip Cop previously busted the publication for claiming Aniston and Pitt may marry again.

In this latest article, one of the unidentifiable "insiders" eventually concludes about Aniston and Theroux, "Hollywood's nastiest divorce rages on!" But when Aniston and Theroux announced their separation in February, they actually said nothing about divorcing. Significantly, their joint statement did include a warning: "Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative."

That's precisely what this cover story is, a fictional narrative with no real proof to support it. A rep for Aniston denies she and Theroux are in any kind of a divorce battle, telling Gossip Cop it is "too stupid to address" any further. A spokesperson for Theroux also tells Gossip Cop the report is simply "false." That's why there is no documentary evidence to back it up.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
