One of this week’s tabloids claims Jennifer Aniston is furious at Justin Theroux for giving a “fake” interview about the nature of their divorce. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the premise. A rep for the actress confirms it’s untrue.
Last month, Theroux opened up to the New York Times about his split from Aniston, calling it “the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity.” The actor admitted the breakup was “heartbreaking,” but added, “Neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.”
According to Heat, Aniston is irate that her estranged husband is “playing Mr. Nice Guy, while disrespecting her and running around with other women.” An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Jen’s really [angry] that Justin is trying to make things look amicable when they’re not. Jen feels as though she’s been used by Justin. What’s worse is that he’s now trying to convince the public he’s this sensitive, nice person.”
The outlet’s supposed source goes on to say that Aniston has “warned [Theroux] that they are far from being friends, and she can’t believe he has the audacity to make it out like he’s the good guy in all this.” The actress’s main gripe, according to the tabloid, is seeing her estranged husband hanging out with Emma Stone. “It made her blood boil and she realized just how insensitive he could be,” adds the questionable tipster. “They haven’t even sorted out their divorce and he’s already seemingly moving on… She feels humiliated by the way he’s acting.”
But as Gossip Cop has stressed several times, Theroux and Stone are just friends. Considering that the two aren’t romantically involved, the magazine is trying to back up its narrative with a false claim. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a spokesperson qualified to speak on Aniston’s behalf, and we’re told the outlet’s story is “complete nonsense.” Theroux wasn’t being disingenuous in his NYT interview, nor is there any secret animosity between him and Aniston. The only thing that’s “fake” is the tabloid’s report.
It should be noted, Heat is the same unreliable outlet that has peddled several phony stories about Aniston being back together with Brad Pitt. In June, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming that the actress planned on meeting her ex-husband’s kids. This latest article involving Theroux and his interview about their divorce is more lies.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
