Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux did not get into a screaming match when they reunited to hold a funeral for their late dog, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. Separate reps for both stars confirm they didn't get into any sort of fight.
Late last month, the exes met to lay their German shepherd Dolly to rest, but the National Enquirer claims the reunion became acrimonious. "It was all very cordial at first, with Jen and Justin united by grief and really leaning on each other," a supposed source tells the magazine. "But then the wine started flowing and it didn't take long before they were at each other's throats."
The alleged insider goes on to say that Aniston got tipsy and started laying into her ex, adding, "Jen was a total firecracker. She ripped Justin a new one, complaining about how he vanished the month after their split without so much as a conversation before popping up in New York with a different girl every night."
The questionable tipster further contends that Aniston "started mocking how Justin mooches around New York in his leather jacket, skinny jeans and army boots, thinking he's some kind of fashion icon when really he just looks like an old man trying to fit in." The anonymous source concludes, "She let him have it with both barrels!"
The incident described in the tabloid simply never occurred. The outlet hides behind an unidentified "insider" to back up its story, but Aniston's spokesperson is going on the record to dismiss it as nonsense. Theroux's rep also confirms that the magazine's article is a complete fabrication. The exes simply reunited to hold a ceremony for their beloved dog. There was no bitterness involved.
It should be mentioned, when Theroux opened up about his split from Aniston in an interview with the New York Times last year, he made a point of noting "there was no animosity" between them. The actor added, "It was kind of the most gentle separation... It's amicable. It's boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be."
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer last year for falsely claiming Aniston and Theroux were having secret sleepovers in an effort to "restart their romance." Of course, the exes aren't back together. This latest article is contradictory and maintains that the actress has been angry at her ex since their split.
Last summer, Gossip Cop called out the unreliable outlet for wrongly reporting that Theroux was dating Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, Sienna Miller and more female stars all at the same time. The actor was never romantically involved with any of those famous women. The tabloid simply has no idea of what's been transpiring in the time since Aniston and Theroux separated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
