Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are not "headed for [a] divorce because of Brad Pitt," despite a made-up report that combined a couple of false rumors. Gossip Cop can again correct these unfounded claims. We're told there's no truth to it.
The latest outlet to reheat these fabrications is The Hollywood Gossip, a site not known for its original reporting, fact-checking, or sources within the entertainment industry. The cut-and-post blog first notes that while Pitt is "a single man," his ex-wife is "not single" because she's married to Theroux. But rather than debunking this false narrative of Aniston possibly leaving her husband for Pitt, the website instead cites Life & Style, which asserts the spouses have "spent most of the past year apart."
And while that is true, THG next wrongly relies on In Touch, which has a so-called "friend" quoted as saying, "Brad and Jen have bonded like never before... helping each other through their respective troubles." At the end of its slapped together article, based on previously debunked stories from two untrustworthy tabloids, THG expresses, "There's a possibility this is really happening."
No, there is not. It's just a couple of phony premises weaved together. But the website wouldn't know that because it seemingly doesn't really have insiders, and there's no mention about having fact-checked any of the claims with sources or reps in its latest.
Unlike THG, which often just rips off other outlets without actually reporting or even properly crediting them, Gossip Cop vigorously investigates every story. Several sources close to the celebrities mentioned laughed off the outrageous claims. While Pitt and Aniston occasionally text, the site's contention that she has "fallen back under [his] spell" is simply a lie.
A rep for Pitt tells Gossip Cop the scenario about him and Aniston rekindling is "completely untrue," while a spokesman for Aniston called the article "made-up." Additionally, an Aniston insider swears up and down there's "absolutely "no truth" to THG's story. NOTE: On February 15, 2018, Aniston and Theroux announced they were separating. The specific claims here, however, were and remain made-up. As the couple noted in their statement, "Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative."
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
