Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are not planning a “double date” with Brad Pitt and Alia Shawkat to the Golden Globes. That ridiculous storyline can be found in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop can confirm there’s zero truth to it.
Aniston and Pitt are both expected to attend the Golden Globes next month. The actress is nominated for her role on The Morning Show, while her ex-husband scored a nod for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. According to Woman’s Day, Aniston is hoping to use the red carpet as an opportunity to squash rumors they’re back together. Her plan supposedly involves them bringing other romantic interests to the event.
“She wants to use the opportunity to prove that while they’ve rebuilt their relationship, it’s strictly platonic,” a supposed source tells the outlet. The “insider” claims Aniston suggested that Pitt bring Shawkat as his date, while she’s already asked Theroux to be hers. “She’s telling pals it could be an opportunity for her and Justin to continue working towards their own reunion, which would be her perfect start to 2020,” adds the seemingly phony tipster.
Everything about the tabloid’s report is untrue. Gossip Cop already busted Woman’s Day last week for falsely claiming Aniston and Theroux were rekindling their romance. The story emerged simply because the Friends star invited her ex to her annual Friendsgiving dinner. The two have remained pals since their 2018 split, but they’re not headed for a reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop has debunked several false rumors about Pitt and Shawkat dating. We even busted Woman’s Day for falsely claiming Pitt had introduced the Arrested Development actress to his parents. The two stars are friends and hang out in the same social circles, but they’re not a couple. The actor’s own rep recently told us he “isnt dating anyone.” In fact, Pitt himself recently debunked every dating rumor following his split from Angelina Jolie.
The latest issue of Woman’s Day is combining two false narratives to create a new one involving an imaginary “double date.” Sources close to the situation assure us the report is made up. Additionally, the magazine can’t keep track of who’s supposedly dating who. Less than a month ago, the outlet made up another bogus story involving an awards show. At that time, however, the magazine claimed Pitt surprised Aniston with flowers backstage at the People’s Choice Awards, and the two were back together again. The reason the tabloid’s narratives don’t align with each other is because they’re all fabricated.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
