Jennifer Aniston has not been “avoiding” Justin Theroux while shooting her upcoming TV series “The Morning Show” in New York City, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. We’re told it’s completely made-up.
Earlier this month, Aniston shot scenes for her upcoming Apple series in New York City, where her estranged husband lives. According to Star, the actress took extreme measures to avoid a run-in, including heading straight back to her hotel after leaving the set. “This was the first time she was in NYC for a stretch at the same time as Justin since they’ve split, and she was being extra careful,” a supposed source tell the outlet.
The alleged insider goes on to say that Aniston turned down invitations to parties while in town for fear that her ex might show up. The questionable tipster further contends that seeing Theroux would be “totally uncomfortable” for the actress, but he’s less concerned about a chance encounter.
“Justin doesn’t really care if she’s around or not,” says the seemingly phony source. “He’s still going to go to his favorite places and not worrying about her plans.” As for Aniston, “Avoiding New York City outings seems like the best plan while she’s working on the East Coast,” says the suspicious insider. “She can go out when she feels more at home – in L.A.”
None of this is accurate. Gossip Cop checked in with Aniston’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the magazine’s story is fabricated. The actress’s rep further notes she was “only in New York a few days” to shoot “The Morning Show,” as the majority of the Apple series was filmed in Los Angeles. Although Aniston’s brief time in New York was spent working, her reason for not partying or hitting the town had nothing to do with avoiding Theroux. She simply spent a few days working on her TV series before jetting back home.
Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first time the tabloid has attempted to stir up nonexistent drama between the exes. Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted the publication for falsely claiming Aniston and Theroux were in a battle over money. Reps for both stars assured us the narrative was untrue.
Back in December, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for making up a story about Aniston confronting Theroux for “stalking” her. In that tale, Theroux was spending an increasing amount of time in Los Angeles in the hopes of running into Aniston. The outlet seems to enjoy this theme of the exes possibly crossing paths while visiting different coasts. However, this latest take on the subject is also nothing more than fiction.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
