Is Jennifer Aniston buying a $25 million home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming as a 50th birthday gift to herself? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, can debunk the report.
According to Star, Aniston is going to celebrate her milestone birthday on February 11 by "purchasing a pricey ranch" in Jackson Hole and "getting back to nature." An unnamed and untraceable source is quoted as telling the magazine, "She really fell in love with the town and rugged terrain a few years back, and now she's at a place in her life where she can afford to kick back three or four months out of the year in the country." The tipster adds she's now "prepared to drop at least $25 million on a house and a few acres, buy some horses and relax, which she can't really do in L.A."
The outlet's supposed "mole" notes how Aniston "looked happy and at ease" during a recent vacation there with her friends Jimmy Kimmel and Jason Bateman and their spouses. While in Jackson Hole last month, asserts the tabloid's source, "She also found time to check out a few properties for sale." Curiously, while the publication claims to know how much Aniston is willing to drop on a ranch in Wyoming, it has no details whatsoever about any of the properties she supposedly visited.
It bears mentioning that none of the local papers in Jackson Hole published anything about the former "Friends" star house-hunting there, while it was widely reported how Aniston spent time after the holidays with Bateman and Kimmel. Additionally, the tabloid's entire article is based on an anonymous and unidentifiable source, who readers are supposed to believe without question. Conversely, Aniston's rep, who speaks on the actress's behalf, exclusively assures Gossip Cop on the record the magazine's premise is "absurd."
Oddly, Star doesn't mention whether the actress is going to build a nursery in the new home. Of course, Gossip Cop is just mocking the magazine, which we busted two months ago for running a wholly fictional cover story about Aniston and Brad Pitt having a baby together. In reality, however, both their reps have repeatedly confirmed to Gossip Cop the two haven't even seen each other is ages.
But that tabloid doesn't always like operating in the real world, and so it sometimes creates fake scenarios, including having once photoshopped two completely unrelated pictures to create a cover that made it appear Aniston and Pitt were caught kissing. Admittedly, it's hard to trust an outlet that would resort to such trickery. Because the publication offers no proof whatsoever that Aniston is buying a $25 million house in Jackson Hole for her 50th birthday; predicates its whole article on a nameless source, while Gossip Cop has an on-the-record denial; and has a track record for running provably untrue stories, we're giving the report a zero out of 10 on our fact or fiction meter.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
