The tabloids frequently make up false stories surrounding Jennifer Aniston’s relationship with her former “Friends” co-stars. Gossip Cop has debunked several phony articles on the subject. Here are five recent wrong rumors.

In September, Gossip Cop busted In Touch for falsely claiming that Aniston was furious with Courteney Cox for keeping in touch with her estranged husband Justin Theroux. The magazine alleged that Cox secretly met up with the actor in New York City and Aniston went “into a tailspin” when she found out. The outlet failed to mention when and where Cox and Theroux’s supposed get-together even took pace. Regardless, the story was based on claims from an anonymous “source,” but Aniston’s own rep told us on the record that it was untrue.

Gossip Cop also called out the National Enquirer in September for making up a story about Aniston begging Matthew Perry to ask Brad Pitt for help getting sober. The article emerged after Perry revealed on Twitter that he had spent three months in the hospital after undergoing surgery for a gastrointestinal perforation. Although the actor has been open about his past struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, there was indication his recent medical crisis was a result of substance abuse. Regardless, Aniston’s spokesperson assured us she never told her former co-star to ask her ex-husband for help.

Also in September, Gossip Cop corrected an NW story claiming Aniston and Cox rejected Lisa Kudrow’s wish for a “Friends” reunion. The magazine contended that Kudrow wanted to return for an updated version of the sitcom, “even if it was just the women,” but her female co-stars dismissed the idea. The premise was bogus. Kudrow was asked in 2017 “Today” show interview about the possibility of a “Friends” reunion, and she responded, “I don’t see it happening… The thing we liked best about the show was that they were 20-somethings and they were their own family. Now, they all have families, so what are we going to watch?” Kudrow doubled down on her comments during an interview on “Conan” earlier this year, explaining that a “Friends” reboot wouldn’t work because “the show isn’t about people in their 40s, 50s and if we have the same problems, that’s just sad.”

In June, NW published a contradictory story about Aniston being the one trying to convince the “Friends” cast to do a reunion. The tabloid even asserted that a reunion “could be just days away from being announced” as the actress was rallying the cast back together. Not only did Aniston’s spokesperson tell Gossip Cop on the record that the story was “false,” but the same week the article was published, “Friends” co-creator David Crane confirmed that a reunion is “never happening.”

And finally, Gossip Cop busted New Idea in January for alleging that Cox and Kudrow were upset about Aniston supposedly rekindling a romance with Pitt. The outlet said that the two actresses were “dead against the former couple’s renewed closeness.” Of course, the entire article was fabricated. Reps for both Pitt and Aniston have assured us several times that the two haven’t reunited, while the actress’s close friend Portia de Rossi told Us Weekly a few months ago that the exes “haven’t seen each other.” People magazine similarly reported earlier this year that that Pitt and Aniston “haven’t seen each other in ages.”
