A report claiming Jennifer Aniston kicked Emma Stone out of her social circle for "canoodling" with Justin Theroux is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus premise. There's no truth to any of it.
According to RadarOnline, Aniston isn't happy about Stone and her estranged husband becoming a " new couple," so she's told her famous friends to keep the actress away from their "Hollywood social circles." The story is bogus from the start. As Gossip Cop has repeatedly stressed, Stone and Theroux are not dating. The pair, who co-star together on the new Netflix series "Maniac," are very friendly but they're not romantically involved. In May, Stone told WWD that Theroux is "like my brother."
Still, an alleged insider tells the blog, "Emma's tried to reach Jen to explain that situation with Justin, but Jen's not giving her the time of day." The questionable source adds, "Jen may say publicly that she's not heartbroken over the split but she definitely knows how to hold a grudge and Emma's out."
The site's article gets more ridiculous from there. The outlet notes that last month, Aniston was in Milan shooting Murder Mystery at the same time that Stone attended the Venice Film Festival. "Jen clearly avoided Emma in Italy," says the seemingly phony source. Only, both actresses were in Italy for professional reasons. Aniston was busy shooting a movie, while Stone attended press conferences and red carpet events for her upcoming film The Favourite.
Additionally, Milan and Venice are three hours away from each other by train. Using the blog's logic, Aniston avoided Stone in Italy because she didn't stop shooting her movie to take a three hour train ride to Venice, where Stone was busy promoting her own project at a film festival. It's absurd to say the least. The "source" concludes, "Jen's squad has chosen sides and banished Emma from their social circle. The message is clear: betray Jen and you'll pay for it."
Even if Stone and Theroux were a couple, which they're not, the blog's story still doesn't pan out. Earlier this month, People noted that Aniston "doesn't even talk about [Theroux] anymore." The trusted celebrity news outlet added, "She doesn't keep up with what he does. She is focusing on her own life."
Additionally, similar stories about Aniston and Stone being at odds have cropped up over the past several months, and reps for both actresses have told Gossip Cop on the record there's no truth to the narrative. In June, for instance, RadarOnline claimed that Aniston was plotting "revenge" on Stone for spending time with Theroux. The premise wasn't true then and it's no more accurate now.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
