A tabloid report claiming Jennifer Aniston is becoming a "cougar" and wants to date younger men is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the bogus premise. A rep for the actress confirms it's nonsense.
According to Life & Style, however, Aniston is looking to get over her split from Justin Theroux by hooking up with someone much younger. An alleged insider tells the magazine that the 49-year-old actress "isn't looking for a commitment right now," so she's "asking girlfriends to set her up with someone in his 20s or 30s who won't get too attached."
The supposed source claims Aniston got the idea to date someone younger from Theroux, who's been linked to Selena Gomez and Emma Stone. But as Gossip Cop has reiterated several times, the actor never had a romance with either of the young stars. Many reliable publications have also confirmed that Theroux is just friends with Gomez and Stone.
Still, the questionable tipster adds, "Jen's sick and tired of being portrayed as the heartbroken one and thinks being spotted with a handsome man on her arm could help set the record straight." From there, the outlet goes on to play matchmaker, suggesting that Aniston should consider dating younger male stars such as Zac Efron, Chris Evans, Harry Styles and Scott Eastwood.
The magazine's story is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly nonexistent "source," but Gossip Cop checked in with a spokesperson qualified to speak on Aniston's behalf, and we're assured the article is a "fabrication." Meanwhile, People recently reported that Aniston is "very happy being single." Additionally, Aniston has spent the majority of the summer filming the comedy Murder Mystery in Europe, so it's unlikely she's had much time to get back on the dating scene.
Of course, this is hardly the first time Gossip Cop has had to call out Life & Style for making up a story about the actress's post-split love life. Back in March, we busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Aniston's friends were setting her up with non-famous men, such as CEOs of companies and Silicon Valley executives. The outlet is now switching narratives by setting her up with young male celebrities.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop debunked the outlet's phony story about Brad Pitt supporting Aniston amid her divorce from Theroux. In reality, Pitt hasn't played a role in his ex-wife's breakup. This latest article is yet more fiction from the unreliable tabloid.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
