Jennifer Aniston is not dating Google co-founder Sergey Brin, despite a completely false and speculative tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. The actress's rep tells us it's simply not true.
Earlier this month, Gossip Cop corrected an Us Weekly story claiming that Aniston was dating two mystery men, one an "industry creative" and the other a "tech titan." There was no truth to the article. In fact, less than two weeks before the story emerged, People had reported that Aniston is "very happy being single." Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped Grazia from trying to guess who the "tech titan" might be.
The unreliable magazine begins, "Speculation reached Grazia that one of the men [dating Aniston] is rumored to be Sergey Brin, the billionaire founder of Google." Using terms such as "speculation" and "rumored" is a red flag from the start. The outlet continues, "One source suggested that the pair had been put in touch by mutual friend Gwyneth Paltrow." So we're to believe Aniston is in a relationship with Brin because an anonymous source "suggested" it?
The tabloid then quotes an alleged insider as saying that Aniston's "number one rule" following her split from Theroux "was that she wouldn't date another actor." The "source" adds, "Gwyneth is friendly with Sergey because she has worked with Google for her role at Goop. He's worth $55 billion and is one of the most eligible bachelors in the world." Real sources don't usually provide a person's exact net worth and social status in conversation. That type of exposition is used in storytelling. In fact, it's the kind of information that's more readily found through a Google search.
Despite it already having been established that Aniston isn't dating anyone at the moment, Gossip Cop still checked in with the actress's spokesperson, who assures us this latest story is "made-up." We're further told that Aniston "has never met" Brin. We've also reached out to Google's press department for comment.
Additionally, Grazia is hardly a reliable source when it comes to the actress's love life. In April, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming that Aniston was dating Will Arnett. This latest article fails to mention what happened to her so-called "romance" with the actor. And earlier this week, the outlet wrongly reported that Aniston was secretly meeting up with Brad Pitt in London. It's clear the publication just switches narratives on a whim. This latest phony article about Aniston dating Google's co-founder is yet another example.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
