Jennifer Aniston hasn't dated anyone following her split from Justin Theroux last year, but the tabloids have arbitrarily linked the "Friends" star to many famous men since her breakup. Gossip Cop has debunked several of the actress's nonexistent romances with other stars. Here are five wrong rumors on the topic.
Of course, there have been countless stories about Aniston rekindling a romance with Brad Pitt amid her divorce from Theroux. The ex-spouses aren't back together, but in March, OK! went so far as to claim Aniston was dating both Pitt and ex-boyfriend John Mayer at the same time. The two men attended her 50th birthday party in February, inspiring the tabloid to claim she was juggling romances with both of them. Aniston's own spokesperson told us on the record that she hadn't rekindled a relationship with either of her exes.
Gossip Cop busted Life & Style in January for falsely claiming Aniston was in love with Jason Bateman, her longtime friend and frequent co-star. The magazine contended the actress developed feelings for Bateman following her split from Theroux, and told him how she felt during a private moment together. Bateman has been happily married since 2001 to Amanda Anka, with whom he shares two daughters.
In addition to Aniston's spokesperson dismissing the story as nonsense, the outlet didn't bother to mention that Aniston is actually close friends with Bateman's wife. The two women were spotted on shopping outings in New York and Los Angeles shortly before the bogus article emerged. And just a few weeks ago, Aniston and Anka traveled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate Courteney Cox's 55th birthday. The actress isn't secretly in love with her friend's husband.
Last November, Gossip Cop called out NW for alleging Aniston had been secretly dating Leonardo DiCaprio for months. According to the publication, Pitt was the one who introduced his ex-wife to his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star. The only reason the narrative was invented was because Aniston had attended DiCaprio's 44th birthday party in Los Angeles earlier that month. In reality, the Titanic star has been dating model Camila Morrone for more than a year.
Gossip Cop also busted the Globe last November for falsely contending Aniston wanted to date Johnny Depp. The tabloid maintained she was pursuing a romance with Depp, and had been "putting the word out through a couple of their mutual friends that she'd be down to have dinner if he's interested." Aniston's spokesperson told us on the record the report was "made-up." Around the same time, People magazine noted the actress "isn't concerned about dating" and "is happy to focus on work." Aniston herself recently confirmed this in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
And finally, Gossip Cop called out Grazia last year for falsely claiming a romance was developing between Aniston and Will Arnett. A so-called "source" was quoted as saying, "Jen and Will have been friends for years, but she has been leaning on him since her split from Justin." However, a spokesperson for the "Arrested Development" star assured us that he and Aniston are "just buds." The actress's rep also confirmed that to be the case. Aniston still remains single and hasn't been dating a slew of male celebrities following her split from Theroux.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
