Is Jennifer Aniston really dating her divorce lawyer? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.
According to Woman's Day Australia, the actress's divorce attorney secretly accompanied her to the Los Angeles premiere of her new Netflix movie Dumplin' earlier this month. An alleged insider tells the magazine, "They've known each other a long time, so it wasn't odd that he was there. They played it cool and pretended they were only friends, but Jen really likes him."
The outlet's supposed source continues, "They're casually dating and it's just the beginning stages, so she doesn't really know where it's going, but she wants to find out. Jen's starting to feel more like herself again and she's coming around to the idea of being in a relationship."
The questionable tipster goes on to say that following her splits from Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, Aniston decided she needs to date someone who's not in the entertainment industry. "Pretty much everyone Jen has been with has been an actor or musician, so she's open to stepping out with an average Joe," adds the seemingly phony source. "Jen is very excited at the prospect of playing the field and maybe finding Mr. Right. She really does think her life is about to begin at age 50. Maybe she'll even become a mom."
Naturally, the unreliable outlet doesn't provide the name of Aniston's divorce lawyer, or even a single detail about the mystery man. The tabloid purports to know that the actress is dating her attorney and brought him to the premiere of her film, but is unable to give any sort of description of him. There's also not a single other outlet in the world claiming Aniston's attorney accompanied her to the premiere of Dumplin', which was attended by dozens of entertainment outlets.
Meanwhile, reputable publications such as People magazine recently reported that Aniston "isn't concerned about dating" and "is happy to focus on work." "Entertainment Tonight" also published a story about Aniston's "perfectly happy single life," noting that she "feels more centered than ever because she's not dating anyone and she's perfectly happy."
It must also be mentioned, Woman's Day Australia has trouble keeping track of its phony premises. Less than a month ago, we busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Aniston was developing a romance with Leonardo DiCaprio. This latest article makes no mention of the actress dating the movie star, but instead suggests she's been secretly seeing her divorce lawyer for a little while. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Aniston, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the magazine's story is false.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
