Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc are not working on a secret TV show together, despite an untrue tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the story. It’s completely made-up.

According to OK!, the three Friends alums have been meeting up to develop a new project together, but their other three co-stars aren’t involved. “For a long time, there was talk of the entire cast doing a reboot,” a supposed insider tells the magazine. “But in the end, producers decided the show’s premise would never work with them as older adults. So Jen, Matt and Courtney got the idea to do a totally different show with a whole new vibe and cast of characters.”

The alleged source further contends that the trio are thinking of a 30-minute sitcom, but “they’re not opposed to doing a drama instead. They think a fresh format might just work.” The tipster says Aniston, Cox and LeBlanc are headlining the show, as it will be impossible to get all six Friends on camera together, but “they all think it would be fun for Lisa [Kudrow], Matthew [Perry] and David [Schwimmer] to make guest appearances.”

“Courteney recently invited Jen and Matt to her place to toss a few ideas around,” says the seemingly phony source, adding that the group chatted over a homemade Mexican meal. “The brainstorming session went really well. Matt, Jen and Courteney loved the decade they spent working together on Friends and remained close after the show came to an end in 2004.”

The tabloid’s report is complete fiction. Here’s what’s really happening: A couple of weeks ago, Cox shared an Instagram photo of herself with Aniston and LeBlanc. The magazine seemingly saw the image and decided to create this fake narrative about the trio meeting up to discuss a TV show. Earlier this week, however, Aniston joined Instagram and shared a photo showing all six Friends stars hanging out together.

The outlet’s report was written before Aniston shared the image, and it was created with the assumption that Aniston, Cox and LeBlanc were the only three co-stars who got together. The trio aren’t meeting up to discuss a show without their other former castmates. The premise doesn’t make much sense either. If this supposed project was so top secret, why would Cox advertise the fact that the three of them met up? That might only lead to speculation about the trio working together, which OK! did – albeit wrongly.

Gossip Cop checked in with LeBlanc’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record the story is “just not correct.” Sources close to both Aniston and Cox also confirm they’re not developing a TV show with the actor.

Earlier this year, Gossip Cop debunked a somewhat similar story from OK!’s sister publication, Life & Style. The magazine insisted Aniston, Cox and Kudrow were meeting up to discuss a Friends movie. In the world of the tabloids, it seems only three of the co-stars can discuss a project at any given time.
