A tabloid claims Jennifer Aniston feels "betrayed" by Courteney Cox because she helped Justin Theroux celebrate his birthday last week. The supposed drama is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can clear up the situation.
Cox was photographed visiting Theroux's New York City apartment over his birthday weekend, and according to Woman's Day, Aniston isn't happy about it. "Jen never liked it much, but Courteney insisted on keeping in touch with Justin even after they split up," a supposed source tells the magazine. "She argued that they got like a house on fire while Jen was married to him, and that their breakup should change that."
The alleged insider goes on to say that Aniston sees the whole situation as a "total betrayal" on the part of her "Friends" co-star. "There is no love lost between Jen and Justin, and to find out Courteney's still falling all over him is like a punch to the stomach," adds the suspicious tipster.
The seemingly phony source notes that Cox is in a relationship with rocker Johnny McDaid, so although "there's nothing romantic" going on between her and Theroux, Aniston still feels she lacks "loyalty." The so-called "insider" adds, "All of Jen's West Coast friends have fallen into line and remained by her side, but for some reason, not Courteney, who is the closest with Jen out of all of them."
The tabloid hides behind an anonymous tipster to back up its story, but Gossip Cop reached out to Aniston's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it's "complete nonsense." For starters, Aniston and Theroux are on good terms and even reunited last month to bury their late dog Dolly. The actress isn't the least bit upset about her "Friends" co-star also staying friendly with her ex.
Additionally, Gossip Cop has already debunked several variations of this bogus narrative. In June, we busted Heat for falsely claiming Aniston was ending her friendship with Cox because she joked around with Theroux on Instagram. Last December, Life & Style wrongly reported that Aniston and Cox had a falling out as a result of Cox "secretly taking" to Theroux.
And last September, Gossip Cop called out In Touch for publishing a nearly identical story about Aniston becoming enraged over Cox and Theroux meeting up in New York City. Nothing about this ongoing storyline is true, despite how many different ways the tabloids attempt to sell it. It should be mentioned, every time this fictional scenario is presented, Aniston and Cox inevitably hang out again. This time will be no different.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
