A tabloid claims Jennifer Aniston and Charlize Theron have “friction” over Brad Pitt. The story is completely made up. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
All three stars will be at the Golden Globes on January 5. Aniston is nominated for her role on The Morning Show, while Theron is up for an award for Bombshell, and Pitt scored a nod for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. According to New Idea, there’s bound to be some awkwardness at the awards ceremony.
An alleged insider tells the magazine that Aniston and Theron “don’t like each other at all so there won’t be any love lost between either of them.” The “insider” provides zero explanation as to why the two actresses supposedly don’t get along. The suspicious tipster merely states, “It doesn’t help that Charlize was linked to Brad earlier this year.”
The tabloid’s report is predicated on a false premise that Gossip Cop immediately debunked. Pitt and Theron never dated. They were only “linked” in the fantasy world of the tabloids. We corrected many variations on the subject earlier this year, and in October, Theron dismissed the romance rumors on The Ellen Degeneres Show. “I had an entire relationship [with Pitt] I didn’t even know about,” the actress joked. In an interview with the New York Times earlier this month, Pitt said, “I don’t know how many women they’ve said I’ve been dating the last two or three years, and none of it’s true.”
Even if Pitt and Theron had dated – which they didn’t – there’s no reason Aniston would be upset. The Friends star hasn’t rekindled a romance with her ex-husband. Just last week, Gossip Cop busted New Idea for falsely claiming Aniston and Pitt had secretly gotten married at her Christmas party. In addition to that story being absurd, this latest article makes no mention of the exes tying the knot again.
Circling back to Theron, New Idea made up a lot of nonsense about her and Pitt earlier this year. In February, for example, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for claiming Angelina Jolie was stealing Pitt back from the Bombshell star. Every aspect of that article was bogus. Pitt and Jolie are still very much separated, and she never tried to “steal” him back from a woman he wasn’t dating.
Naturally, there were also a bunch of phony stories this year about Aniston and Theron fighting over Pitt. New Idea has decided to recycle the ridiculous narrative in advance of the Golden Globes. Gossip Cop reached out to Aniston’s spokesperson about this latest story, and we’re assured it’s “complete nonsense,” just like the rest of this ongoing saga.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
