Is Jennifer Aniston really buying a luxury private island? That’s what a blog is claiming. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve learned the truth.
According to RadarOnline, the actress plans to spend millions of dollars on a coastal pad where she’ll take her friends for private getaways. An alleged insider tells the site that Aniston is “getting bored” of staying at five-star resorts and would rather just own her own island. “This checks a few boxes for Jen, who likes the idea of the ultimate party pad for her and a select group of pals,” adds the supposed source.
The questionable tipster continues, “She’s got so much cash in the bank now and could actually use the tax write-off. She’s looking at options off the coast of Hawaii and even as far afield as the south Pacific.” The site further contends that Aniston sees the purchase as a way to treat herself as the one-year anniversary of her split from Justin Theroux approaches.
The outlet’s report is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly imaginary “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Aniston’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record that it’s false. Despite what the blog’s untraceable “insider” claims, a rep qualified to speak on the actress’s behalf confirms that she’s not buying a private island.
Of course, we’re not surprised by the outlet’s bogus report. RadarOnline frequently comes up with phony narratives about the actress. In October, Gossip Cop called out the blog for falsely claiming that Aniston was writing a “blockbuster tell-all” in which she’d reveal the secrets of her marriages to Theroux and Brad Pitt. That claim also came from a mysterious tipster, but Aniston’s own rep told us, “Jen has never wanted to write a memoir, and we have continuously made that clear every time gossip magazines have fabricated this story.”
Earlier in October, Gossip Cop busted the website for making up a story about Aniston launching a “designer denim line.” Once again, the actress’s spokesperson told us the article was “totally made-up.” And shortly before that, the blog wrongly reported that Aniston would be moving to New York to film her new Apple TV series. The unreliable site didn’t realize that the show is primarily filming in Los Angeles.
The majority of RadarOnline’s stories about Aniston come from unidentified tipsters who seem to live on fantasy island. That’s why Gossip Cop reaches out to the actress’s longtime rep, who frequently goes on the record to discredit these phony premises, which never pan out.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
