Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt haven't been secretly meeting for the past year, despite many false reports claiming otherwise. Although the ex-spouses are occasionally in touch, they're not constantly getting together. Here are five wrong rumors on the subject.
Just last week, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Aniston and Pitt were having "low-key dinners" at the actress's house, where they spent time "hanging out on the patio, listening to music and talking about life." An anonymous insider told the magazine that Pitt apologized to his ex-wife during one of their meetups, which supposedly got emotional. Not only did the actor's rep dismiss the article as fiction, but around the same time, "Entertainment Tonight" reported that the ex-spouses only "occasionally talk." They're not sharing secret meals at Aniston's house.
Last month, Gossip Cop called out Woman's Day for wrongly reporting that Aniston and Pitt had been hiding out at his beach house in Santa Barbara, California, using his ocean villa for "secret weekend getaways." The story was based on the false premise that the ex-spouses are back together, which simply isn't the case. Separate spokespeople for both stars have assured us countless times that they haven't rekindled a romance. The idea that they've been sneaking off to his beach house was absurd.
In March, Gossip Cop debunked a Grazia story about Aniston and Pitt secretly meeting on the Sony Pictures studio lot to discuss movie projects. According to the tabloid, the exes had been developing a number of projects prior to their divorce, and decided it was time to get them off the ground. An anonymous source was quoted as saying, "They know that if they released a movie together, even just as executive producers, it would be an absolute sensation." The unreliable outlet didn't bother to mention when the meeting took place or a single detail about any of the supposed projects the two had in development. Regardless, separate reps for both stars told us the report was fabricated.
Gossip Cop busted OK! in February for making up a story about Aniston and Pitt meeting up in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico following the actress's 50th birthday party. Although it's true the actor briefly attended his ex-wife's party, they didn't travel to Cabo together following the bash. In reality, Aniston went to the beach town with Courteney Cox. Pitt didn't join them on the trip.
And finally, Gossip Cop called out Grazia last year for wrongly reporting that Aniston and Pitt were planning to meet up in London while the actress filmed the Netflix movie Murder Mystery. The problem with the story? Murder Mystery never shot scenes in London. Production on the comedy primary took place in Italy and Montreal, but Aniston never traveled to the UK to work on the film. Needless to say, she didn't meet up with Pitt in London either.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
